- Founder's Career
I am Yan, the founder of EGO Sourcing, and I used to be an excellent student majoring in International Trade and Economics. after graduating from university in 2008, with the desire to become an excellent talent in the field of foreign trade, I came to Hangzhou alone to look for job opportunities.

When I first came to Hangzhou, due to my unfamiliarity with various industries, I joined different types of factories, including injection molding machine factories, medical equipment factories, and finally worked in the power meters industry for 7 years. During this period, I have traveled to Kenya, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan, Netherlands, Austria, Spain, etc., and has accumulated rich experience in foreign trade, and has learned a lot about the real needs of clients in different industries and countries.
- Getting to Know and Engaging in E-Commerce Business
In 2012, cross-border e-commerce business gradually emerged, and some friends around me started to engage in e-commerce business, and I also contacted and learned some related information and raised my attention to it.
In 2014, Amazon business was booming in China, and many people chose to sell Chinese goods in the U.S. and European markets through the Amazon platform with great success, which aroused my great interest.

In 2015, I founded my first company and started our entrepreneurial journey on Amazon and other cross-border platforms.
From 2015-2018, we sold Chinese goods through Amazon, eBay, AliExpress and other cross-border foreign trade platforms, and also achieved very good sales results.
Our sales experience in Amazon and other e-commerce platforms has allowed us to accumulate a lot of experience about product selection, operation, shipping, after-sales, etc. We also understand the real situation of different markets, so that we know better how to do a good job of our products and how to satisfy the market and customers’ needs.
- B2B Business on Alibaba
Starting from 2018, we decided to explore the B2B business at the same time due to more and more competitors joining cross-border e-commerce platforms such as Amazon. We first chose Alibaba platform as our sales channel and officially started our B2B business work in 2019.
Everything is difficult at the beginning, and our B2B business also did a tough job at the beginning, due to the limitation of product selection and the fierce competition from our peers, we only got some very small orders in the first year.

By 2020, as we continue to expand the range of products and accumulate more and more customers, our sales performance began to grow gradually, and at the same time we also began to encounter a variety of product purchasing needs of some of our regular clients.
- Joint Venture Sourcing Business
My European client Chris, who is also a friend of mine, often came to us for help in sourcing different types of products. Suddenly one day he shared the idea of starting a sourcing agency with us, and we then started our business together.
We set up a European team and a Chinese team. The European team is responsible for marketing, clients development, clients communication and after-sales service, while the Chinese team led by me is mainly responsible for supplier development, inquiry, purchasing, production follow up, quality control and shipment, etc.

During the operation of the sourcing team, we served a lot of clients and also got lots of orders, all clients give us good reviews, but due to the high operation cost of the European team, the service fee we charged was not enough to cover the cost, also because of the lack of experience in the early stage, our sourcing team only lasted for one year, in the end, the European team had to cease operations and was disbanded.
After the European team was disbanded, our China team was retained and continued to provide services to our existing clients in consideration of their after-sales service.
- EGO Sourcing is Founded
Due to the increasing number of B2B clients who want our help in sourcing different categories of products, and also considering the existing clients of our previous sourcing team needing our services, I decided to start a new sourcing agency – EGO Sourcing.

On July 1st, 2021, EGO Sourcing was founded and is dedicated to providing one-stop sourcing services to global e-commerce sellers, making sourcing easier and more efficient for all our clients. In our company name, E stands for E-commerce seller, Go Sourcing stands for our willingness to help all clients who want to achieve great results to optimize and manage their sourcing work.
Learning from the failures of our previous joint venture sourcing business and thanks to the relatively low operating costs of our Chinese sourcing team, our new sourcing agency business has grown rapidly and as of today we are helping hundreds of e-commerce sellers and offline entities to improve their sourcing work. Our clients come from Netherlands, Germany, Italy, UK, USA, Brazil, Chile and other countries, most of which have grown significantly with our help.
